and sublimated into pure form.

This is a process of visual purification —
a portal to shed the noise and step toward a new self.

BIOGRAPHY
Artist: YOUKEY
Based in Japan, YOUKEY’s artistic vision is rooted in a career defined by extreme precision.
For years, he operated as a mechanical engineer, designing the intricate enclosures of
smartphones and PCs, and the razor-sharp geometries of cutting tools.
After a decade-long hiatus from photography, YOUKEY returned to the lens,
translating his engineering discipline into the realm of abstract macro.
METHODOLOGY
His methodology is a direct extension of his engineering background:
a rigorous commitment to SOOC (Straight Out Of Camera) photography.
Eschewing all digital retouching, YOUKEY treats each shutter release as a “final cut,”
seeking the absolute “living color” that exists in the raw interaction between light and matter.
To him, the camera is an instrument of purification.
